PAINTED JERSEY COMMISSIONS

Almost every sports fan owns a collection of jerseys from their favorite players. With so many athlete appearances and signings, it's now easier than ever to get one that's autographed. One way to make a jersey truly unique and one of a kind is to commission a painting of the athlete on one. I have painted hundreds of jerseys throughout my art career and they remain one of my most popular art collectibles. Now you can own one (or more) too!

Do you have your own jersey you'd like painted? Most of my collectors have their own jerseys they send me to paint. If not, no problem, we can always order one.

Once you know which player you'd like painted, it's time to find an image to be painted on the jersey. I work best from the highest resolution images possible. Either I can find some and you can choose from those or if you'd like to tell me ideas about a specific image or moment, I'll do my best to make it work.

After you choose the jersey and image and the jersey is in my possession, I'll begin to paint it. I use a heavy body flexible paint to do the base coat, which usually requires several coats of paint to fill in the holes and creates a smoother surface to paint on. The paintings are made with high quality acrylic paint and are coated with a matte varnish to protect it after it's completed. The paintings are generally pretty flexible and won't crack unless manipulated. I'll keep you updated along the way and once it's finished I'll send you a photo of the final image!

The price to have a jersey painted starts at $3,500 for a single posed player, if you supply your own jersey. I charge more for jerseys with multiple images. Before I start any jersey, I require a 50% installment to start, and the balance upon completion. When I send the finished jersey back to you, shipping charges may apply. Because these are custom projects, I cannot accept returns on painted jerseys.

Art is something that takes a lot of time and patience and should never be rushed. Typically you should expect at least 8-12 weeks from the time I receive the jersey to the time the original work of art is complete. Sometimes it's quicker, sometimes it is longer. Usually I have many orders lined up at once and prioritize from the time I receive each order. If there is a particular date you would like a painting by I will try my best to work with you, although I cannot always guarantee it. A painting only leaves my studio when it is at the highest of standards I hold each piece of art to!
